Nature of Northern Bay

A curious fox cub watches as golfers tee off of hole #1. Northern Bay Resort is truly a unique oasis of Wisconsin. Its central location offers visitors a variety of activities for the whole family. One not to be forgotten is the abundant wildlife of Central Wisconsin. Visitors often talk about the Deer and Wild Turkey that are frequently sighted on or around our property. It is not unusual for our guests to see a Bald Eagle, Osprey, or Sandhill Crane fly by. Sightings of Foxes and the endangered Whooping Crane have also been reported.
Northern Bay Resort is 15 Minutes away from Necedah National Wildlife Refuge. Necedah National Wildlife Refuge features an array of wildlife including endangered Whooping Cranes, the Karner Blue Butterfly, and Grey Wolves. Its a great place to enjoy the sweet taste of wild berries while hiking or bird watching. Necedah National Wildlife Refuge is the starting point for Operation Migration. This 1250 mile migration teaches young Whooping Cranes migration routes to their wintering grounds in Chassahowizka National Wildlife refuge in Florida, using ultralight aircraft.
